Job Summary
We are looking for a kind considerate female (must be a driver ) to join our team of six carers who provide 24 hour care for our lovely daughter.
our aim is to provide the best person centred care to keep her interested and entertained, this includes long walks weather permitting. She has limited abilities but a beautiful appreciative nature and loves interaction. Providing emotional support is the essence of this post
Duties
- We do everything for her from moving and handling with ceiling track hoists, all personal care, thrice daily changes and exercises as well as administering medication on a two to one basis. All other needs are one to one except hospital appointments when we need two .
- She has 7 small meals via peg in 24 hours. She has 2 baths each day to relax her body and a rest from the constraints of her wheelchair and sleep system.
- We have Health and Safety policies and procedures, Mar sheets, Risk assessments daily diary, all in place to provide a safe working environment. We take her to Church every week as well as out for long walks every day (her favourite activity)
- It is essential to have a clean UK driving licence for all transport needs.
- Full training is provided for all tasks
- There are light housekeeping duties shared by everyone to maintain a clean and safe environment, mostly done during a waking night shift.
- We document daily care activities accurately and general health.
Experience
- Previous experience is appreciated but not essential
- Having a basic knowledge of medical terminology and administration medication procedures is preferred but not essential as training is provided
- Certification in first aid is beneficial but not essential as training is provided for successful candidates.
