Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (required)
- Previous experience working with children and young people in a residential setting
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Ability to work waking night shifts on a rota basis
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
About the Role
HJ Talent is recruiting a Children's Residential Waking Night Support Worker for a 3-bed children's home in Stoke-on-Trent.
You will play a vital role in providing overnight support, ensuring the safety, wellbeing and security of children and young people throughout the night. You will help maintain a calm, stable and nurturing environment while responding appropriately to any needs that arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of young people throughout the night
- Carry out regular welfare and safety checks
- Maintain accurate records and complete handovers
- Respond to incidents and provide emotional support when required
- Follow safeguarding and care plans at all times
- Support the smooth running of the home during night shifts
- Work closely with the day team to ensure continuity of care
