Job Description
As a professional HGV Driver at Egan Waste, you’ll do more than drive a truck, you’ll represent our values, ensure high safety standards, and deliver first-class service to our customers.
You’ll be responsible for deliveries of Skips, RORO's, FEL & Bins to domestic and commercial customers. Working closely with our Yard and Operations team, you’ll ensure your vehicle is safe, your paperwork is accurate, and each customer interaction reflects our core values.
Your Core Responsibilities
✅ Safety First
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects immediately.
- Always drive in line with tachograph and working time regulations.
- Ensure you are fit and rested for duty and wear the correct PPE.
- Follow site-specific safety rules at all customer premises.
✅ Customer Service & Route Efficiency
- Deliver and collect skips and bins safely, courteously, and efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service and deal with any on-site issues professionally.
- Communicate with the office or operations team to resolve challenges on the road.
✅ Vehicle Care & Compliance
- Keep your vehicle clean, tidy, and roadworthy.
- Load and secure skips safely in line with load safety regulations.
- Report any accidents or incidents in line with company procedures.
✅ Support Yard & Operations Teams
- Assist with loading / unloading if required.
- Maintain communication with the Yard Foreman and Transport Manager.
- Provide general support during downtime or yard-based tasks.
What We’re Looking For
✅ Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence
✅ Up-to-date Driver CPC qualification
✅ Experience with skip lorries, RORO vehicles, FEL and Bin Wagons
✅ Strong awareness of road safety and compliance
✅ Excellent communication and customer service skills
✅ Team player with a proactive attitude
✅ Willingness to work flexibly and support other areas of the operation when needed
