Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our small team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a flatbed or curtain side lorry from various locations to Rainham. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service. The position is paid and requires a valid HGV Class 2 licence, drivers CPC card, along with relevant driving experience.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a flatbed HGV Class 2 lorry to collect from clients and distribution centres.
- Ensure all collections are completed accurately and on time, maintaining high standards of customer service.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe working order.
- Complete all necessary documentation and delivery paperwork accurately.
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies during driving and loading/unloading operations.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when required, ensuring proper handling of cargo.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, specifically with delivery routes.
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience with flatbed vehicles is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of driving regulations and safety procedures within the UK.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively.
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.
- Ability to handle physical tasks related to loading/unloading cargo safely and efficiently.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering high standards of service.
