We are looking for 3 Out of Hours Supervisors to work evenings or weekends.
The Out of Hours Supervisor is a key operational role for someone who combines strong decision‑making skills with a deep commitment to safe, person‑centred home care. You will ensure that older people receive reliable, dignified and high‑quality support during evenings and weekends, when the service relies on your leadership most.
You will be responsible for keeping the service safe, responsive and well‑coordinated out of hours, acting as the first point of contact for staff, clients and families, and ensuring that no one is ever left without essential care.
Responsibilities
- Provide calm, confident leadership out of hours, ensuring the service remains safe, responsive and well‑coordinated.
- Act as the first point of contact for staff and families, offering guidance and making clear decisions.
- Manage urgent rota issues, sickness and last‑minute changes to maintain continuity of care.
- Carry out emergency visits and welfare checks when needed, including delivering essential care if cover is unavailable.
- Keep accurate, confidential records in Charitylog, ensuring GDPR compliance and inspection‑ready standards.
- Conduct spot checks, support staff practice and ensure care aligns with policies and CQC Fundamental Standards.
- Identify and report safeguarding concerns or incidents promptly and appropriately.
- Work independently, professionally and flexibly, representing Age UK Enfield with empathy and excellent customer service.
- Uphold all organisational policies, promoting equality, dignity and the protection of vulnerable adults.
Shifts available:
Monday to Friday 17:30 to 22:00
Saturday and Sunday from 07:00 to 14:00
Saturday and Sunday from 14:00 to 22:00
About You

You are values‑driven, calm under pressure and confident working independently. You understand how to balance compassionate care with safe, well‑governed service delivery.
You will bring:
- A Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Strong knowledge of person‑centred care, safeguarding, and CQC Fundamental Standards.
- Experience in domiciliary care and responding to operational issues such as rota gaps or emergencies.
- Excellent communication, record‑keeping and decision‑making skills.
- A genuine commitment to dignity, equality, inclusion and high‑quality care.
