Job Overview
We are seeking an exceptional, reliable and experienced Traditional Housekeeper/Cook.
The Estate grounds are open to the public 2 days per week and the estate events team organise weddings, shoots and other events during the year. This position is a Senior demanding position within a beautiful estate in Fife Scotland.
Housekeeper /cook responsibilities for within the main property
- Perform daily cleaning of all areas of the home, including kitchens, bathrooms,
- bedrooms, and living spaces.
- Laundry and linen management.
- Ensuring the home remains welcoming, and immaculate t all times.
- Maintaining household supplies and stock levels.
- Kitchen upkeep and maintaining hygienic food preparation areas.
- Cooking for the principals when in residence and for occasional family events, traditional country house cooking.
- Assist with serving if required for large functions in the house
- Running errands such as shopping or dry cleaning (if required).
- When the family are in residence the focus will be to care for the principals, their family and guests.
- Manage part time housekeeper.
- Oversee contractors that may be working within the property.
- Reporting maintenance issues or repairs required within the property to the Estate Factor.
- Happy to drive when needed to airport and train station for guests or family
- collections.
- Happy to work with the Estate Factor to oversee events and functions.
- Able to arrange flowers when required and take the initiative to communicate with the Head Gardener when replacements or produce is required from the garden.
The ideal candidate
- Proven experience working as a housekeeper in a private household.
- A fit, able housekeeper who is used to working to tight schedules.
- Someone who is happy to host visiting guests when the principals are not in residence.
- Overseeing external catering staff and kitchen staff during events.
- A motivated self-starter who can manage his/her time effectively.
- Overseeing Estate events on a rota basis under the supervision of the Factor.
- Excellent attention to detail and high cleaning standards.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
- Discreet, trustworthy and respectful of privacy.
- Good organisational skills and a proactive approach to tasks.

- The ideal candidate will be very detail-oriented, and capable of working
- independently while taking pride in maintaining a well-run household environment.
- Able to act to alarm responses and operate as a key holder.

Hours and days
Typically 40 hours per week Monday to Friday but totally flexible approach when principals are in residence.
