Salary: Up to £20,982 per annum
Hours of Work: 30 hours per week
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Nursery Practitioner for a Fixed-Term role, located at YMCA North Tyneside on Church Way in North Shields. What Will You Be Doing?
As a Nursery Practitioner, you will work throughout our nursery rooms to deliver an appropriately high standard of childcare and early education. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the room lead and carrying out the planning and delivery of engaging activities to bring about effective learning.
- Listening carefully to children, valuing their views, and ensuring every child is treated as an individual in line with EYFS requirements.
- Communicating sensitively and working in close partnership with parents, carers, and families to share information regarding their child's well-being and development.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and supporting the Nursery management team to help the setting reach an "Outstanding" grading with OFSTED.
What Skills Or Experience Do You Need?
To be successful in this rewarding role, it is essential that you have:
- A Level 3 childcare qualification (NNEB, BTEC, NVQ, CACHE, or similar).
- Detailed knowledge and a clear understanding of Ofsted Standards and the EYFS framework.
- The ability to plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate learning opportunities, alongside clear leadership and teamwork skills.
- A current first aid qualification.
While not essential, the following are desirable:
- At least 2 years of post-qualifying experience in a daycare setting.
- Experience working in a culturally diverse area and a commitment to equal opportunities.
- A full, clean driving licence.
