We're a leading fencing contractor working across new build sites, delivering top-quality installations with a strong focus on reliability and service. We're on the lookout for a hardworking, organised, and physically capable Yard Operative—someone ready to take ownership of the yard and make the role their own.
Due to expansion, we are now hiring two Yard Operatives to cover the afternoon shifts, ensuring the yard runs efficiently from start to finish each day.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Running the Yard – Keep everything running smoothly: materials in the right place, vans loaded correctly, and the space clean and safe.
- Material Handling – Receive and prepare materials such as gates, panels, concrete posts, and timber. This involves regular heavy lifting, so you’ll need to be physically strong and comfortable handling large, heavy items. You must also be extremely careful when moving and storing materials to avoid damage, breakages, or costly mistakes — taking pride in keeping everything in top condition.
- Loading/Unloading – Load vans safely and efficiently, using the right equipment and lifting techniques.
- Inventory & Stock – Help manage stock levels, report shortages or issues, and assist in stock takes.
- Yard Maintenance – Keep the yard tidy, dispose of waste properly, and ensure tools/equipment are put away.
- Health & Safety First – Follow all safety rules and flag anything that doesn’t look right.
- Team Player – Work closely with the rest of the team and support where needed.
Shift Options Available
We are currently recruiting for one position:
Afternoon Shift (approx.):
13:00 – 20:00
(Some flexibility may be required depending on workload.)

As this is a newly structured role within the business, we are open to discussing slight adjustments to start/finish times or total hours for the right candidates. Whether you’re looking for slightly shorter days or a variation that suits your routine, we’re happy to have that conversation during the interview process.

What We’re Looking For
- Forklift licence – Essential.
- Organisational skills – You’ll be the one keeping things in order.
- Hardworking & Reliable – This is a physical role that requires stamina and a strong work ethic.
- Experience – Previous experience in a yard or warehouse environment is ideal.
- Common Sense & Initiative – We want someone who spots issues before they become problems.
- Proactive mindset and attention to detail
- Good communicator – You’ll need to work closely with drivers, our fencers and office staff.
The Details
- Pay: £15 hourly rate
- Overtime paid for additional hours (outside of morning/afternoon shift)
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend work available if needed at the yard
- Free parking available
- Location: Yard based near Naseby – you’ll need to reliably commute (NN6 9LH)
