We are currently recruiting 3 Mechanical Craftsperson (Water) engineers to support maintenance operations across a large hospital estate in Birmingham.
These roles will focus on water system maintenance, compliance checks and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across hospital facilities. You will work as part of the estates maintenance team ensuring critical building services remain safe, compliant and operational.
The role will mainly be based within the acute hospital site, with occasional work across retained estate and mental health units if required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on water systems
- Legionella control tasks including:
- Temperature monitoring
- Shower head cleaning and disinfection
- TMV servicing
- Buffer vessel blowdowns
- Maintenance and testing of domestic water systems
- Respond to breakdowns and reactive maintenance tasks
- Maintain plant records, logbooks and compliance documentation
- Work from technical drawings and maintenance instructions
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with regulations
- Update maintenance records using Maximo or similar CAFM system
Requirements
- NVQ / City & Guilds Level 2 in Plumbing, Heating or Ventilation
- Experience working with water systems in commercial or healthcare environments
- Knowledge of ACoP L8 and HTM04-01 regulations
- Understanding of Legionella control and water hygiene procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
Previous hospital or healthcare maintenance experience is desirable but not essential.
