Overview
Broken Eggs is a Spanish restaurant in Fitzrovia, and we're launching a new street food stall — Mercat — at Canopy Market in King's Cross. We're looking for a chef who can prep and cook on the stall.
You'll be working closely with one other team member running the full weekend operation. It's a hands-on role for someone who likes the buzz of street food, doesn't mind the physical side of market work (loading + unloading vans, setting up the stall, dismantle the stand), and takes pride in serving great Spanish food.
What you'll be doing
- Thursday (9am–5pm): Prep at our kitchen in N4 — sauces, batches, mise en place for the weekend.
- Friday (approx. 11am–9pm): Set up in the market and being trade at 12pm–8pm.
- Saturday (approx. 10am–7pm): Trade 11am–6pm.
- Sunday (approx. 10am–7:30pm): Trade 11am–6pm, pack everything up, dismantle the stall (around 1.5hour).
What we're looking for
- Previous chef experience — ideally street food, market or fast-paced kitchen background.
- Comfortable cooking at volume in a compact stall setup.
- Solid food hygiene knowledge (Level 2 minimum; we'll support you to keep it current).
- Physically able to load/unload a van, set up a stall, lift kit and structure.
- Reliable, organised, and good in a small team.
- Right to work in the UK.
