Female Personal Assistant (Self-Employed) – Make a Real Difference

About the Opportunity
We are looking for a reliable, compassionate, and person-centered female Personal Assistant to support a 54-year-old woman with Cerebral Palsy to continue living independently in her own home and community.
This is a genuinely rewarding role where you’ll build a meaningful working relationship, supporting someone who values independence.
The client is a full-time electric wheelchair user. Her condition affects her mobility and speech, and she uses an iPad to support communication until you become familiar with her voice. She also has a hearing impairment.
She has lived independently since the age of 19 and has a keen interest in current affairs, animal welfare, and staying socially active.
Working Hours (Fixed Schedule)
- Tuesday: 6:15pm – 9:45pm
- Saturday: 11:00am – 3:00pm
- Sunday: 11:00am – 3:00pm
While these hours are fixed, there are opportunities for additional shifts, including covering annual leave and sickness. Occasional overnight support may also be available when visiting friends (optional, not essential).
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting with personal care
- Assisting with household tasks and meal preparation
- Helping with shopping and errands
- Supporting access to the community and social activities
- Providing help with paperwork and forms
About You
You’ll be someone who is:
- Dependable, punctual, and respectful
- Compassionate and committed to promoting independence
- Comfortable working in a person-centered way
- Flexible and willing to provide additional cover when needed
Essential Requirements
- Female (due to personal care needs)
- Self-employed status
- Enhanced DBS check
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Awareness of allergies (especially seafood and eggs)
Experience with hoists or electric wheelchairs is helpful but not required guidance will be provided.
