Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Commercial Manager to oversee and develop the commercial operations of HOSSAIN FOOD STORE LTD, a retail business specialising in the sale of food, beverages, and everyday consumer goods. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing supplier and customer relationships, driving sales growth, and ensuring the achievement of revenue targets across the store’s retail operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to business expansion while leading a dedicated team in a fast-paced retail environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent negotiation skills, and a comprehensive understanding of market trends within the food and convenience retail sector.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective commercial strategies aligned with organisational objectives and retail sales targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, distributors, and business partners to foster long-term collaborations.
- Lead negotiations for supplier contracts, pricing agreements, and stock purchasing to maximise profitability and operational efficiency.
- Analyse market trends, customer purchasing behaviour, and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and improve sales performance.
- Coordinate with marketing, sales, and store operations teams to ensure seamless execution of commercial and promotional plans.
- Monitor financial performance related to commercial activities and prepare detailed reports for senior management.
- Oversee the preparation of proposals, supplier agreements, and retail pricing strategies in response to business requirements.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and health and safety requirements within all commercial and retail operations.
- Manage a team of sales and store staff professionals, providing guidance and support for professional development.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or in a similar senior commercial or retail management role within the food and convenience retail sector.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative working environment.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrable ability to analyse retail market data and translate insights into actionable commercial strategies.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools such as CRM systems, MS Office Suite, stock management, and sales analysis programmes.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, or related fields is preferred.
- Knowledge of legal frameworks governing retail trade, food safety, and commercial transactions is advantageous.

Pay: £50,100.00 per year
