About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional and highly experienced finance professional to lead and manage the financing strategy for a growing commercial property investment portfolio across the UK.
The successful candidate will be a senior-level finance specialist with extensive experience in commercial real estate finance, debt structuring, commercial mortgages, and lender relationship management. This individual will play a critical role in securing and managing funding for property acquisitions, developments, refinancing transactions, and portfolio growth initiatives.
The role requires an expert understanding of the UK commercial lending market, including high street banks, challenger banks, specialist lenders, bridging finance providers, development finance lenders, and institutional funding sources.
This is a strategic and hands-on position suitable for a commercially minded finance professional who can originate, negotiate, structure, and deliver complex funding solutions for commercial property investments.
Key ResponsibilitiesCommercial Property Finance Strategy
- Develop and implement financing strategies to support commercial property acquisitions, developments, refinancing, and portfolio expansion.
- Identify the most suitable debt and funding solutions for individual projects and wider portfolio requirements.
- Optimise capital structures to maximise returns whilst managing financial risk.
Debt and Loan Origination
- Lead the sourcing, structuring, and execution of commercial mortgages and property finance facilities.
- Prepare and oversee high-quality funding proposals, business plans, financial models, and lender presentations.
- Negotiate loan terms, pricing, covenants, and security requirements with lenders.
- Manage transactions from initial enquiry through to drawdown and completion.
Lender Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with UK banks, challenger banks, specialist commercial lenders, private funders, development finance providers, and brokers.
- Build and expand a network of funding partners to support future growth opportunities.
- Stay informed of lender appetite, underwriting criteria, and market trends.
Financial Analysis and Due Diligence
- Conduct detailed financial analysis of commercial property transactions.
- Assess investment viability, debt serviceability, cash flow projections, and financial risk.
- Support acquisition and investment decisions through robust financial modelling and scenario analysis.
Portfolio and Funding Management
- Monitor existing lending facilities and refinancing opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with lender covenants and reporting obligations.
- Identify opportunities to improve financing structures and reduce borrowing costs.
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with directors, investors, solicitors, valuers, brokers, and lending institutions.
- Present funding strategies and recommendations to senior management and investors.
- Provide expert advice on financing options for commercial property transactions.
Market Intelligence
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of UK commercial property finance markets.
- Monitor changes in lending policies, interest rates, regulations, and funding opportunities.
- Identify innovative funding solutions and emerging lenders.
Person SpecificationEssential Experience
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in a senior finance role within commercial property, real estate, banking, lending, property investment, or commercial finance.
- Proven track record of successfully securing commercial mortgages and complex property finance facilities.
- Extensive experience arranging finance for:

- Investment properties
- Mixed-use developments
- Development finance projects
- Bridging finance facilities

- Commercial-to-residential conversion projects
- Demonstrable experience managing significant borrowing facilities and lender relationships.

- Experience negotiating directly with UK lenders and funding institutions.
