Candidate Profile
An exciting opportunity exists for you to join the Council’s Street Works Team. We are looking to recruit a Street Works Inspector to monitor works under the London Permit Scheme.
An understanding of LoPS, Traffic Management Act and the associated Codes of Practice would be an advantage. A relevant Street Works qualification or experience of traffic management is desirable.
- Assess T.M plans for compliance.
- Site meeting to discuss forthcoming works.
- Inspect jobs in progress.
- Attend teams meeting to discuss up -coming works.
- Identify FPN’s
- Identify Section 74’s.
- Inspect reinstatement after works complete to ensure it’s compliant.
- Register any defect on Street Manager
- Dealing with complaints from residents
Experience in street works coordination or an operational support environment is also desirable, although training will be provided.
Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential as you will be liaising with colleagues, other departments, Utilities, councillors and the public, with an aim of minimising disruption resulting from street works on the Borough road network.
The candidate should have good IT skills and a working knowledge of MS Office applications as well as being able to adapt to a range of bespoke IT systems and databases. You will be required to show initiative and work on your own as well as part of a team.
A minimum of 3 GCSE’s grade C passes should be held including English, Maths, and preferably an IT qualification.
Occasional weekend and evening working is required to fulfil the needs of this role.
