Serendip Home Care is looking for compassionate, reliable Care Assistants to join our growing domiciliary care team, supporting people in their own homes and helping them live independently with dignity and respect.
About the Role
This is a community-based domiciliary care position. You will be supporting clients in their own homes by:
- Assisting with daily living tasks (including making a very important cup of tea)
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Delivering personal care with dignity and respect
- Offering reassurance, patience, and a friendly face
- Listening to some wonderful stories (some of which you may hear more than once)
Essential Requirements
- You must be able to drive and have your own car (business insurance required)
- Willingness to work every other weekend
- Kind, dependable, and professional
- A good sense of humour and a positive attitude
- Experience in care is an advantage, but not essential — compassion is more important
- A genuine commitment to treating people with respect and dignity
Hours & Contract
- 24–30 hours per week
- Permanent position (Full-time or Part-time)
- Work location: Community-based, in clients’ homes
Pay, Training & Career Progression
- Starting pay from £13.85 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience)
- Enhanced weekend rate:£15.00 per hour
- Bank Holidays: Enhanced pay rate
- Christmas & New Year: Double pay
- Mileage paid at 45p per mile
- Pay increase from April 2027
- Joining Bonus £500 (T’s & C’s apply)
- Annual Leave: 5.6 weeks (pro rata)
- Full training and ongoing support provided
- Clear opportunities for progression, including promotion to Care Coordinator
