Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Room Leader to oversee the daily operations within our childcare setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children. This role involves creating a nurturing environment that promotes early childhood development, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in their care. The Room Leader will be responsible for guiding staff, implementing educational programmes, and fostering positive relationships with children and their families.
Duties
- Lead and manage a team of childcare practitioners to deliver high-quality care and education.
- Plan, organise, and evaluate age-appropriate activities that support children's developmental needs.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment at all times.
- Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication.
- Monitor children's progress and maintain accurate records of developmental milestones.
- Support staff development through mentoring, training, and performance reviews.
- Oversee daily routines including meal times, play sessions, and rest periods.
- Drive organisational initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided within the nursery setting.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in childcare or nursery settings, with a strong understanding of early childhood education principles.
- Demonstrable management or leadership experience within a childcare environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Working knowledge of childcare legislation and health & safety standards.
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred.
- Experience working with children across different age groups is desirable.
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving transportation responsibilities.

Pay: £13.50-£14.30 per hour
