What You’ll Be Doing
As a Social Work Assistant / Contact Worker, you’ll play a vital role in supporting children and families engaged with Children’s Services. Your work will be hands-on, varied, and meaningful. You'll:
- Transport children and young people to family contact sessions and provide supervision when required
- Support birth parents and foster carers during planned contact and family support activities
- Provide practical, emotional and social support to help families stay connected and thrive

What You’ll Bring
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- NISCC registration
- Experience supporting children, young people or families
- NVQ Health & Social Care (or equivalent qualification)
- A full driving licence and access to a car for work
- A caring, patient and compassionate approach
This role is subject to a clear ACCESSNI Enhanced Vetting Check to ensure the applicant can work in REGULATED ACTIVITY. A criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to an applicant obtaining a position.
