Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Room Leader to oversee and support our curiosity approach nursery setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children. This role involves guiding a team of nursery staff, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young learners. The successful applicant will be responsible for implementing educational programmes, maintaining high standards of childcare, and fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of nursery practitioners to deliver high-quality care and education.
- Plan, organise, and evaluate age-appropriate activities that promote children's development across all areas.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children at all times in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their child's progress and daily activities.
- Support the professional development of team members through mentoring and supervision.
- Monitor compliance with health and safety policies, safeguarding procedures, and nursery regulations.
- Contribute to the organisation of the nursery environment to optimise learning opportunities.
- Assist in the recruitment process by participating in interviews and staff induction when required.
Requirements
- Proven management experience within early childhood education or childcare settings.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Experience working directly with children in a nursery or similar environment.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and childcare regulations.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Experience in nursery experience or early childhood education is essential.
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending external meetings/events.
- Passionate about providing exceptional care and education to young children whilst fostering a positive learning environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £24,420.00-£36,650.24 per year
