Overview
We are seeking a friendly and responsible Lunchtime Assistant to support our nursery children over the lunch time period. This role involves supervising children, ensuring their safety, and creating a positive environment for children to enjoy their lunch period. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and possess excellent organisational and communication skills. Previous experience in childcare, teaching, nannying, or similar roles is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Supervise children during lunchtime, helping and supporting them with their lunch
- Engage with children in interactions to promote social interaction and enjoyment
- Maintain a clean and tidy dining area before, during, and after lunch service
- Support children with behavioural or emotional needs as required
- Ensure the safety of all children at all times, responding promptly to any incidents or concerns
- Collaborate with nursery practitioners and other assistants to ensure smooth lunchtime operations
Requirements
- Experience in childcare, teaching, nannying, or similar roles
- Ability to work effectively with children of different ages and backgrounds
- Good communication skills in English
- Organised, patient, and friendly demeanour with a genuine interest in supporting children's wellbeing
- Ability to work during nutsery hours, primarily around midday periods
- A proactive attitude towards maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all students
- Full DBS
Pay: £12.21-£12.80 per hour
