Job description
This Gardener position is responsible for the maintenance of country house gardens and commercial sites working as part of a small team working for a family company.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Maintain the grounds to a very high standard throughout the seasons.
- Work to improve the gardens.
- General security duties while on site.
- Ensure all garden machinery is properly serviced and maintained at all times.
- Consult and instruct as required contractors when on site.
- Basic maintenance e.g. painting and/or repairing fences.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Good plant and tree knowledge including when to prune etc.
- Good flower/plant knowledge for borders and hanging basket displays
- Working with/around animals, dogs and horses.
- Experience working on small projects suck as turf laying or putting up fencing
Education and Training
- Holder of NVQ or Royal Horticultural Society Level 2 in horticultural preferred but not essential as experience will satisfy.
- Chainsaw certificate
- P.A 1 and P.A 6 Chemical spraying license.
- Working at height
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.30pm
Salary negotiable depending on experience
Pay: From £27,000.00 per year
