Job Description
This is a full-time role for an Environmental Consultant responsible for supporting REDS Group’s environmental response and consultancy services across the UK. The successful candidate will work closely with operational teams, senior managers, clients, and external stakeholders, and will play an important part in delivering high-quality environmental services while supporting the continued growth of the business. Your role will encompass but will not be limited to:
- Site management of soil and groundwater remediation projects, maintenance of groundwater pumping systems, supervision of contaminated land site investigation or remedial works, verification sampling and long-term groundwater and/or compliance monitoring to support REDS current client base and developing network.
- Operate plant (with suitable training), establish and maintain water treatment systems and operate a range of equipment associated with in-situ remediation projects.
- Completing initial onsite spill response assessment and remedial works, including out of hours response works if required.
- Environmental site audit, testing and inspections
- Site sensitivity, risk reduction assessments and Phase I environmental reviews.
- Work with the Environmental Department on reporting and other site works including decommissioning and other remediation projects.
- Onsite creation of site reports and daily updates
- Build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels within the business, with clients, subcontractors, colleagues and other third parties (regulators, statutory consultees, etc).
- Assistance in developing REDS services to support its expanding service provision to varying industries and management of the development of those service offerings.
- Creation of your own personal career development of your training to suit and match REDS service provisions within the consultancy, response and decommissioning industries.
Qualifications
This role would suit a candidate with an environmental sciences degree, but equally we’re looking for someone with practical onsite experience who is able to problem solve to overcome site challenges. Ideally suited to someone with onsite experience of 2-years or more in the environmental or water sectors.
CSCS Card / SPA would be an advantage. Full clean UK driving licence essential.
Place of Work and hours
Hours are Monday – Friday 8am to 6pm. This role can be based out of our Amersham office, however, your place of work will be fluid, nationwide and some of the time it will be working away from home and onsite. The successful applicant will be adaptable, happy to work independently and be willing to learn.
