Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. Duties
- Operate flatbed lorries and other HGV Class 2 vehicles in compliance with all road safety regulations
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to meet schedule requirements
- Secure loads properly to ensure safety during transit
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any faults or issues promptly
- Assist with loading and unloading goods where necessary, adhering to health and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that arise during transit
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for HGV operation
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
- Ability to operate various types of loading equipment if required
- Good organisational skills to manage schedules and routes efficiently
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks when necessary
