We're looking for a passionate, caring and motivated Shift Leader to join our therapeutic children's home in Burton-on-Trent. This is your chance to develop your leadership skills, support a dedicated team, and make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people every single day.
Our welcoming 4 bedroom, Ofsted regulated home provides a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment for children aged 6yrs to 18yrs of age with social, emotional and behavioural needs. We work using a child-centred, PACE-informed approach, helping every young person build confidence, resilience and brighter futures.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Shift Leader, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional care while supporting the day-to-day leadership of the home.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-quality therapeutic care and support to children and young people.
- Leading shifts and helping ensure the smooth running of the home.
- Building positive, trusting relationships and acting as a consistent role model.
- Supporting, mentoring and motivating Residential Support Workers.
- Contributing to care planning, risk assessments and daily routines.
- Promoting emotional wellbeing, positive behaviour, independence and essential life skills.
- Maintaining high standards of care in line with Ofsted and safeguarding requirements.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for every child.
About You
We're looking for someone who is committed, resilient and passionate about improving the lives of children.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience working in a Children's Residential Care setting.
- A caring, positive and proactive approach.
- Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- A genuine commitment to therapeutic, child-centred care.
- A sound understanding of safeguarding and children's wellbeing.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and lead by example.
- A full UK driving licence (preferred).
