Job Overview
We are seeking a experienced Car Mechanic to join our team Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other vehicle components
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks
- Interpret technical diagrams and schematics to accurately diagnose faults
- Carry out equipment repair and maintenance to ensure workshop safety and efficiency
- Assist in the installation of new parts or systems as required
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs needed and maintaining professional communication
- Undertake heavy lifting when handling vehicle parts or equipment
- Maintain detailed records of work performed for each vehicle
Skills
- Strong understanding of vehicle schematics and mechanical systems
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and welding techniques
- Good knowledge of automotive assembly processes and maintenance procedures
- Ability to interpret technical diagrams and perform complex repairs based on schematics
- Mechanical knowledge related to engine performance, transmission systems, brakes, suspension, and electrical components
- Experience in equipment repair and general maintenance tasks within an automotive setting
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Physical strength for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a busy workshop environment
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: Up to £36,000.00 per year
