As Ruby's Newquay heads into its busiest season yet, we're looking for a confident, energetic and hands-on Seasonal Supervisor to support our Parlour Manager throughout the summer months.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with hospitality experience who enjoys leading a team, delivering exceptional customer experiences and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
As our largest parlour, Newquay is a vibrant and exciting place to work, serving luxury Cornish ice cream, milkshakes, sundaes, coffees and more to locals and visitors alike. We're looking for someone who can help maintain the high standards and welcoming atmosphere Ruby's is known for.
The Role
Working closely with the Parlour Manager, you'll help oversee the day-to-day running of the shop, ensuring customers receive outstanding service and the team operates efficiently during busy trading periods.
You will be expected to lead by example, support and motivate the team, and help ensure the parlour remains clean, organised and fully stocked throughout the day.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the Manager with the daily operation of the parlour
- Supervising shifts and assisting with team leadership
- Delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable experiences
- Training, coaching and supporting team members
- Ensuring high standards of cleanliness, presentation and food safety
- Serving customers and assisting with food and drink preparation
- Managing stock levels and assisting with ordering and inventory checks
- Handling customer queries and resolving issues professionally
- Opening and closing the shop when required
- Helping the team stay motivated and positive during busy periods
- Leading by example and maintaining Ruby's standards at all times
What We're Looking For
- Previous supervisory experience within hospitality, retail or food service
- Strong customer service skills and a positive, can-do attitude
- Comfortable leading and motivating a team
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm and efficient during busy periods
- Knowledge of food hygiene and food safety practices
- Experience in cafés, restaurants, bars, ice cream parlours or similar environments is desirable
- A genuine passion for hospitality and creating great customer experiences
