At Saffron Vantage we are looking for x2 7.5 tonne drivers on a temporary basis. Notice cannot be worked around.
Working Hours: 07:00 - 15:00 (30 minute breaks)
Working Dates: Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: £18.50 PAYE Umbrella
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 7.5 tonne flatbed lorry for scheduled deliveries and collections
- Collect and unload food waste bins into a large caddy which is loaded into the 7.5 tonne flatbed from designated locations across the council area.
- Complete daily collection routes covering urban housing estates, residential streets, and rural locations.
- Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects, damage, or maintenance requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of collections, incidents, vehicle inspections, and route completion.
- Follow manual handling procedures when assisting with the movement of mattresses and bulky items.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar lorries
- Valid UK Category C1 Driving Licence (7.5 tonne entitlement).
- Valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Good knowledge of road transport regulations and safe driving practices.
- Good level of physical fitness to assist with loading and handling bulky items when required.
