Residential Conveyancing Solicitor (4+ PQE)
Location: Bury
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000
Overview
An established regional law firm is looking to appoint a Residential Conveyancing to join its team in Bury.
The role has arisen due to continued levels of repeat and referral work within the residential property department, alongside longer term succession planning within the team. The incoming lawyer will join a settled practice with experienced support and a realistic approach to workload management.
About the Firm
This is a well regarded regional practice with a strong reputation in its local market and a loyal, long standing client base. The firm is known for its approachable culture, sensible expectations and strong staff retention.
The residential property team handles a consistent flow of traditional conveyancing work, with an emphasis on client service and repeat relationships rather than volume-driven targets.
Role Overview
You will join an established residential property team working alongside experienced fee earners and a well-resourced support function.
The role will involve:
- Managing a full caseload of residential conveyancing matters from instruction through to post-completion
- Handling freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
- Advising on new build, shared ownership and right to buy transactions
- Dealing with remortgages, transfers of equity and gifts of property
- Managing registered and unregistered title matters
- Handling buy-to-let transactions for repeat local clients
- Working closely with experienced support staff to maintain an organised and efficient caseload
- Managing approximately 60 live conveyancing files, alongside post-completion and registration matters
The department benefits from a steady pipeline of repeat and referral instructions, creating a more consistent and manageable caseload environment than many volume conveyancing teams.
Applications are also welcomed from Licensed Conveyancers and Chartered Legal Executives with relevant experience.
Candidate Profile
This role is likely to suit a Residential Conveyancer with around 4+ years experience, although this is intended as a guide rather than a strict requirement.
You will ideally:
- Be confident managing a residential conveyancing caseload independently
- Have experience across a broad range of residential property matters
- Be comfortable working in a client-facing role
- Value working within a stable, collaborative team environment
- Appreciate a role with realistic expectations and strong administrative support
Salary & Benefits
- Salary of £45,000 – £50,000 depending on experience
- One day home working available
- Dedicated parking
- Strong administrative and post-completion support
- Sensible and realistic billing expectations
- Quality work from an established client base
