Summary
We are seeking an Engagement Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Shropshire . This role is vital in fostering meaningful relationships with stakeholders, volunteers and clients and supporting our mission to create positive social impact.
Responsibilities
As Engagement & Outreach Coordinator you lead the operational, on-the-ground engagement and outreach that brings new people into Live Well Shropshire. Both residents who want to volunteer with us and residents who would benefit from receiving our support as clients.
Working with the Community & Partnerships Lead, who leads the overarching strategy for engagement, volunteer recruitment and partnerships, you will turn that strategy into action across the county, planning and delivering place-based and digital engagement activities, raising awareness of what we do, and making sure people know how to get involved or how to access support.
You will keep accurate records and report on activity, numbers recruited and outcomes to your manager and the wider team.
Role specific purposes:
- To recruit residents from across Shropshire to become volunteers, and to identify and reach residents who would benefit from becoming clients receiving our support.
- To make sure communities, services and organisations across Shropshire – including GP surgeries, hospitals, pharmacies, community and faith groups, libraries, parish and town councils and the wider voluntary sector – are aware of Live Well Shropshire and know how to refer in.
- To deliver engagement and recruitment activity that meets agreed targets/KPIs, with a focus on the most rural, isolated and under-served communities.
- To raise the profile of Live Well Shropshire, building lasting connections that builds both our volunteer base and the people we support.
Qualifications
Essential
- A good standard of general education (English and Maths to GCSE grade A*–C / 9–4 or equivalent). You do not need a degree to do this role, but you will meet the skills and personal attributes below.
Experience
Essential
- Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, partners or the public.
- Engaging or communicating with a wide range of people and audiences.
- Presenting or speaking to groups and individuals.
- Organising activities and following tasks through to completion.
Desirable
- Recruiting, supporting or working with volunteers.
- Working in or alongside the voluntary, community or health and social care sectors.
- Working in communities affected by isolation, deprivation or rurality.
- Marketing, promotion or social media activity.
Knowledge
Essential
- An understanding of, and empathy with, the needs of people requiring preventative support.
- An understanding of equality and diversity issues as they affect older and vulnerable people.
Desirable
- Knowledge of Shropshire and its communities.
- Knowledge of health and social care networks in the community.
- An understanding of the voluntary sector.
Technical Skills / Ability
Essential
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Confidence in networking, persuading and influencing others.
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a busy and varied workload.
- Computer literate and confident with common applications (e.g. Microsoft 365) and able to keep accurate records on a CRM / database.
Desirable
- Familiarity with social media platforms for outreach (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok).

Pay: £26,227.50-£28,000.00 per year
