Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Tramper to join our logistics team. This role involves long-distance freight transportation across the UK, primarily focusing on flatbed deliveries. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating large commercial vehicles, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining high safety standards throughout their shift. Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 lorries, including flatbed vehicles, across various routes within the UK.
- Load and unload goods with care, ensuring securement of cargo according to safety regulations.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after journeys to identify any maintenance issues.
- Complete all required documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logbooks.
- Maintain communication with the dispatch team regarding schedules, delays, or issues on route.
- Adhere strictly to legal driving hours and tachograph regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies during transit and loading/unloading procedures.
- Assist with delivery of goods to clients, providing excellent customer service at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed trailers or similar vehicles.
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of UK road regulations and safety standards for large vehicle operation.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during long hauls.
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards clients and colleagues. This role is ideal for experienced drivers committed to safe driving practices and excellent service delivery within the logistics sector.
