Job Summary
We are seeking committed and passionate Children's Residential Support Workers to be part of our team in opening a new children's home. This role involves providing high-quality, therapeutically informed care and support to children in a residential setting, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and development. The successful candidate will work closely with children, their families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote positive outcomes and foster a nurturing environment. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young lives while developing professional skills within the childcare sector.
Duties
- Offer day-to-day care and emotional support to children in accordance with individual care plans
- Assist with daily routines including meal times, personal hygiene, and recreational activities
- Support children in developing social skills, independence, and confidence through engaging activities
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, behaviour, and any incidents in line with organisational policies
- Drive children safely to appointments, school, or activities as required
- Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to implement care plans effectively
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children at all times by adhering to safeguarding procedures
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings to continually improve service delivery
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children or in childcare settings is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Valid driving licence and ability to drive safely is preferred
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members
- An empathic understanding with a genuine interest in supporting children's development and wellbeing
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
- IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Ability to work flexibly across shifts including evenings, weekends, or sleep-in duties as required
- Commitment to safeguarding policies and maintaining a professional approach at all times.

Pay: £13.50-£14.50 per hour
