Senior Support Worker (Female carers preferred) – Children's Complex Care
Location: Sutton, London (Applicants must live in Sutton or the surrounding areas)
Salary: £13.00–£15.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-time / Part-time
Shift Pattern: Long days, weekdays, evenings and weekends. Applicants must be flexible and able to work across all shift patterns.
About the Role
We are seeking compassionate, experienced and dedicated Female Senior Support Workers to join our team in supporting a 12-year-old child with complex care needs within her home and the community.
This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference in a child's life while promoting independence, safety and wellbeing.
The successful candidate will be confident supporting children with behaviours that challenges, implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies, and working as part of a professional 2:1 care team.
Shift Times
Monday – Friday
- 07:00 – 09:00 (2:1 support)
- 15:00 – 20:00 (Mixed support pattern)
Saturday & Sunday
- 08:00 – 18:00 (2:1 support)
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
- Female carers preferred
- Live in Sutton or within a reasonable travelling distance
- Hold Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Training
- Have at least 1 year's experience supporting children or young people with behaviours that challenge
- Have experience supporting children with Autism, Learning Disabilities or Complex Needs
- Be confident working within a 2:1 support package
- Be flexible to work weekdays, evenings and weekends
- Have excellent communication and documentation skills
- Be committed to providing person-centred, high-quality care
Desirable Clinical Experience
Experience in any of the following is highly desirable:
- Behaviour that challenges and de-escalation techniques
- Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Learning Disabilities
- Epilepsy awareness and seizure management
- PEG feeding and medication administration via PEG
- Personal care
- Wheelchair and mobility support
- Community access and social integration
- ABC chart completion and behaviour monitoring
- Safeguarding children and maintaining professional boundaries
