Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support major capital delivery projects within the AMP8 Water Framework. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing infrastructure team delivering complex water and wastewater projects across the UK.
The successful candidate will play a key role in commercial management, contract administration, cost control, and financial reporting across a portfolio of civil engineering and utility projects.
This role is offered on an Outside IR35 basis and is suited to a commercially driven professional with strong NEC contract experience and a background in the water or utilities sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial management of AMP8 water infrastructure projects from pre-construction through to final account
- Administration and management of NEC contracts
- Preparation and submission of applications for payment
- Cost forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management
- Procurement and management of subcontractors
- Assessment and agreement of subcontractor applications and variations
- Identification and management of commercial risks and opportunities
- Preparation of compensation events, change control, and claims management
- Production of monthly CVRs and commercial reports
- Support project delivery teams to ensure commercial performance targets are achieved
- Liaise with clients, project managers, engineers, and stakeholders across the framework
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the water, utilities, or civil engineering sector
- Strong understanding and practical experience of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts
- Previous experience working on AMP frameworks preferred
- Excellent commercial awareness and contractual knowledge
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
- Membership or working towards RICS or equivalent desirable
Desirable Experience
- Experience working on clean water and wastewater treatment projects
- Knowledge of UK water industry standards and framework delivery models
- Experience with tier 1 contractors or major infrastructure programmes
