Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Block Paver to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for laying and finishing paving surfaces, ensuring high standards of quality and safety. Duties
- Lay bricks, blocks, and pavers accurately according to design specifications and plans
- Prepare surfaces by levelling, compacting, and cleaning the work area before paving
- Use hand tools such as trowels, hammers, and chisels to shape and set materials
- Operate power tools including mixers, compactors, and cutting equipment safely and efficiently
- Mix mortar or concrete as required for bedding or joint filling
- Ensure proper alignment, levelness, and finish of paved surfaces
- Assist with site preparation, including excavation and groundwork
- Maintain a clean work environment by clearing debris and securing tools after each task
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times during the project
Qualifications
- Proven experience in paving is necessary
- Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and masonry equipment
- Knowledge of construction methods related to paving is necessary
- Ability to read technical drawings and interpret specifications accurately
- Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail with organisational skills to ensure quality workmanship
- Relevant certifications or training in construction trades are a plus but not essential
