Who We Are
As NHS Scotland's unique provider of a national tele-health and tele-care service, we are responsible for the delivery of health advice and information by telephone and online services to the population of Scotland 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. NHS 24 is a patient-focused service providing the people of Scotland with triage, advice, guidance, referral and information on health and healthcare services.
We have five regional centres Aberdeen, Dundee, South Queensferry, Cardonald and Clydebank. NHS 24 supports hybrid working, and this post can be based within any NHS 24 regional centres. The successful candidate must be within commuting distance to a regional centre to attend if required and must also be able to travel to other regional centres when requested to attend meetings, undertake training and any other activities.
The Role
Join NHS 24 as a Business Analyst and be part of a team that plays a vital role in supporting healthcare services across Scotland. In this role, you’ll use your expertise to understand business needs and translate them into effective technology solutions that help deliver safe, efficient and high-quality services for patients and colleagues alike.
You’ll work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, taking a collaborative approach to problem-solving and helping to shape systems and processes that underpin services used by thousands of people every day. Key Responsibilities

Working closely with teams across the organisation to understand needs and identify opportunities for improvement
- Gathering and analysing requirements, turning them into clear and structured documentation
- Supporting the design and development of systems and processes that align with organisational goals
- Carrying out analysis to understand the impact of change on people, processes and technology
- Producing high-quality documentation including requirements specifications and process models
- Collaborating with stakeholders, partners and suppliers to shape and deliver effective solutions
- Contributing to business cases, procurement activity and evaluation of potential solutions
- Ensuring solutions are aligned with strategy, standards and long-term service needs
Successful Applicant will:

Significant experience of core Business Analyst experience (requirements capture, analysis & documentation).

Specialist knowledge of structured IT design methodologies and notations, e.g. UML.
- Specialist knowledge regarding data modelling, requirements capture, process design, requirements analysis, functional specifications, high-level design.
- Vendor management skills, procurement experience and package/product evaluation.
- Extensive resource management planning, risk and issue management and reporting skills.
- Contact or customer service centre or Healthcare Industry work experience as a Business Analyst.
- Written and verbal communication skills and be an experienced negotiator/facilitator with the ability to influence others.
- Degree or equivalent level of education supplemented by specialist courses in business analysis and data modelling, requirements analysis, business planning, procurement.
Benefits
NHS 24 offers a complete benefits package, with a permanent contract on Band 6 £43,231 - £52,679 Per Annum (pro rata if applicable). Placement on salary scale is dependent on confirmation of previous relevant NHS service.
