Senior Children's Residential Support Worker - EBD

We are currently recruiting for a number of senior children's residential support worker roles for our 2 bedded residential children's home in Bradford. You will work as part of a team to provide high-quality care and support for children and young people living in a residential children's home. Our home provides 24/7 care for up to two young people facing a variety of challenges and needs. We are looking for enthusiastic and caring individuals with experience working in a children's residential home who are ready to strive to be the best.
Please note only applicants with at least 12 months experience within a residential children's home will be considered for this role.
Key responsibilities will include the following:
- Shift Lead / Deputise for Homes Manager
- Manage behaviour positively by working in line with specified care and risk management plans
- To promote, safeguard and protect the welfare of each young person in accordance with Working Together Safeguard Children 2018 to assess individual needs and contribute to care and risk plans
- Staff supervisions
- Ensuring plans and policies are reviewed and followed including all homes policies, procedures, placement plans, care plans, risk assessments, rotas
- Provide and maintain a safe, stimulating and secure living and learning environment supporting day-to-day physical and emotional needs.
- Work with external professionals and communities of origin to sustain links and understand past problems
- Demonstrate leadership and efficient organisation
- Ability to work as part of a team and be self-motivated
- Knowledge of child safeguarding and accountability
- The ability to engage, motivate and encourage both staff and young people
- Experience of working with children who may display challenging behaviour
- Understanding and commitment to the role which is 24/7 including weekends and Bank Holidays
- Undertake sleep in duties as part of a flexible rota
Person specification:
- Minimum 1 years experience working in a children's home (Essential)
- Level 3 in Residential Childcare (preferred but not essential)
- Full UK Drivers Licence (preferred)
- Aged 22 or over (Essential)
- Confidence and ability to lead residential support workers
- Commitment to undergo mandatory induction and ongoing training
All new employees will be provided with a comprehensive induction programme and an ongoing training package. You will also be enrolled onto the relevant level 4 Diploma in Children’s Residential Care, all paid for by us.
In return, you'll receive a £350 joining bonus paid directly into your account as well as ongoing performance-based bonuses. You will also receive a competitive salary of £35,275 plus overtime opportunities.
