Overview
We are seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Manager / Sales Manager to join our client's growing Pharmacy Automation division in the UK.
Having achieved £2.5 million in revenue within just 2.5 years, they are entering an exciting new phase of growth. Following a review of their sales operations, they are looking for a highly autonomous sales professional to rebuild and develop a robust pipeline, drive new business, and play a key role in delivering our ambitious growth plans.
This is a rare opportunity to become the first dedicated sales specialist in a rapidly expanding division, with a clear pathway into future sales leadership and team-building responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Generate new business opportunities across retail and hospital pharmacy sectors.
- Build and manage a high-quality sales pipeline from prospecting through to contract award.
- Develop relationships with pharmacy owners, NHS stakeholders, procurement teams and decision-makers.
- Drive short-term revenue through sales of smaller retail pharmacy automation systems.
- Develop and nurture longer-term opportunities within hospital pharmacy environments.
- Deliver product demonstrations, presentations and commercial proposals.
- Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline reporting.
- Represent the business at industry events, conferences and exhibitions.
- Collaborate with internal technical and project teams to ensure successful customer outcomes.
- Support the ongoing development and growth of the UK Pharmacy Automation division.
Requirements
Candidates will have a proven track record of generating new business and closing complex sales opportunities.
We are particularly interested in individuals from the following backgrounds:
Desirable but not essential:
- Experience selling pharmacy automation solutions.
- Existing relationships within UK retail pharmacy and hospital pharmacy networks.
- Experience with competitors or adjacent pharmacy automation providers.
- Proven success selling capital equipment or complex technology solutions (£100k+) into NHS organisations.
- Self-motivated and highly autonomous.
- Proven new business development and lead generation expertise.
- Strong commercial negotiation and closing skills.
- Ability to manage long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent presentation and relationship-building abilities.
- Comfortable working independently within a fast-growing business.
