Overview
We are seeking a reliable and efficient Parcel Courier to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely and safe delivery of parcels across designated routes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and customer service, seeking a dynamic and active position within a busy distribution environment.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including vans and lorries, to transport parcels to various locations.
- Load and unload parcels, ensuring items are handled with care and secured properly during transit.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to meet scheduled deadlines.
- Obtain signatures or proof of delivery from recipients as required.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status or any issues encountered.
- Assist with warehouse organisation and parcel sorting when not on the road.
- Perform heavy lifting of parcels, sometimes exceeding standard weights, in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably within a commercial or logistics environment.
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience in commercial driving, demonstrating safe driving practices over extended periods.
- Familiarity with warehouse procedures and parcel handling techniques.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members.
- Organised with good time management skills to adhere to tight schedules. This role is ideal for motivated individuals who enjoy driving, working independently, and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced setting.
Pay: £80.00-£100.44 per day
