Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our early childhood education centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of childcare professionals, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This role requires strong management and leadership skills, along with a genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development. The Nursery Manager will also liaise with parents, maintain compliance with childcare regulations, and promote the centre’s programmes within the community.
Duties
- Lead and manage the nursery team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities
- Oversee daily nursery operations to ensure smooth functioning and high standards of care
- Develop and implement educational programmes aligned with early childhood education principles
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children aged from infancy to preschool age
- Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding children's progress and centre activities
- Ensure compliance with all relevant childcare legislation, policies, and procedures
- Organise staff rotas, recruitment, and performance reviews
- Manage administrative tasks including record keeping, budgeting, and resource procurement
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and operational efficiency
Experience
- Proven management experience within a nursery or early childhood education setting
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team of childcare professionals
- Extensive knowledge of childcare regulations and health & safety standards
- Experience working directly with children, demonstrating understanding of child development principles
- Familiarity with early childhood education frameworks and curriculum planning
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Valid driving licence is desirable for travelling between centres or community engagement activities
