Job Purpose
The Fundraising & Development Manager will be responsible for securing funding and driving the growth and sustainability of the charity. This includes identifying and applying for grants, developing fundraising strategies, and building relationships with key stakeholders to increase income and impact.
Key Responsibilities Fundraising & Grants
- Research and identify suitable funding opportunities, including trusts, foundations, and grant-making bodies
- Write and submit high-quality grant applications and funding proposals
- Manage the full grant lifecycle, including reporting and compliance
- Maintain a pipeline of funding opportunities to ensure consistent income generation
Charity Development
- Develop and implement a fundraising and income generation strategy
- Identify opportunities to grow the charity’s services and reach
- Support the development of new projects aligned with funding opportunities
- Monitor sector trends and identify new areas for growth
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain relationships with funders, partners, and stakeholders
- Represent the charity at meetings, events, and networking opportunities
- Work closely with internal teams to gather information for funding bids
Monitoring & Reporting
- Track fundraising performance against targets
- Prepare reports for funders, trustees, and senior management
- Ensure all funding is used in line with agreed terms and conditions
Person SpecificationEssential
- Proven experience in grant writing and fundraising
- Strong written and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple applications and deadlines
- Experience in developing or growing a charity, service, or project
- Strong organisational and research skills
Desirable
- Experience working within the charity or non-profit sector
- Knowledge of UK funding landscape (e.g. trusts, foundations, local authority funding)
- Experience in strategy development or business planning

- The role may be subject to a DBS check depending on the nature of the charity
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £12.81-£13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
