Care Team Leader
Location: Edinburgh, EH4
Hours: Full Time
Pay: £16.10 per hour
Our Home
Haugh House is a small, tranquil residential care home in the vibrant Stockbridge area of Edinburgh, close to the Royal Botanic Garden. It has a balcony which is a suntrap in summer, with lovely views of the Water of Leith. The care home is modern and purpose-built, with spacious accommodation for up to 15 residents.
The Role
Leading a team of Carers and Senior Carers, you will deliver person-centred care to our residents to ensure they retain their dignity and individuality. By leading a happy and competent team.
Key Responsibilities
To assist the Home Manager with (or in the absence of the Home Manager take over primary responsibility for):
Overall day-to-day management of the Home.
Implement procedures as laid down by The Company.
Recruit, appoint, train and regularly evaluate staff conjunction with the Home Manager.
Conduct training sessions for staff.
Ensure that staff receive regular supervision and six-monthly Performance & Development reviews.
Prepare and implement duty rotas.
Be aware of, and implement, all procedures appertaining to the running of the Home as laid down in Health and Local Authority guidelines, in particular:
Admissions and discharge procedures and dealing with deaths
Financial and legal affairs dealing with Social Services and private Service Users.
Protection of Vulnerable Adults
Health and Safety
Fire procedures
Drug control
Record keeping
Complaints
Liaise with medical, other professional staff, relatives and representatives of the local community in the promotion of good relationships.
Marketing and advertising, public relations
Any other duties within the purview of the post
Supervision & Personal Development Plans
You will be required to participate in developing a personal development plan twice a year.
You will also be required to participate in supervision sessions every two months.
Health & Safety
It is the responsibility of all employees to ensure that the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act are complied with, safe working practices are adhered to and that any hazards observed are reported to the appropriate officer immediately.
Skills & Experience
To be registered with the SSSC or be prepared to Register
To demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the aging process
To demonstrate knowledge of the care planning and risk management process
To have leadership experience
