Job Description: Cleaner
Salary Scale: £12.71 per hour
Hours: 12.5 hours per week (3.30pm – 6.00pm)
Term time only plus 4 weeks for deep cleaning - October (1) Easter (1) Summer (2)
Responsible to: Site Manager / Assistant Site Manager
Purpose of Job:
To act as part of a team to provide a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the school.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of your designated area and for maintaining high and consistent standards
- Be responsible for cleaning all aspects of each area allocated. This will include:
- Sweeping and mopping all hard floors
- Vacuum cleaning carpeted areas
- Removal of litter from all floors
- Cleaning of internal door glass and internal windows, including frames
- Emptying of general waste bins and taking rubbish bins to rubbish point
- Emptying recycling bins as required
- Cleaning desks, tables, shelves, chairs
- Ensuring ceiling clear of dust and cobwebs
- All skirting boards to be clean and stain free
- Cleaning of toilets, sinks, showers
- Cleaning of swimming pool area and changing rooms
- Washing internal walls as required
- Wiping mirrors clean of all marks
- Cleaning of soft furnishings, making sure stain free
- To understand and apply school policies and procedures
- To attend relevant training and meetings as required
- To respect confidentiality at all times
General:
- To undertake any training commensurate with the post
- To show a responsible attitude to health and safety issues and have due regard for their personal safety and that of others
- Support, uphold and contribute to the development of the school’s equal rights policies and practices in respect of both employment issues and the delivery of services to the community
