Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home
Location: Essex - Romford Home & Wickford Home
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum

We are seeking a confident, hands-on Deputy Manager who can lead from the front, support staff development, and help drive high standards across the home.
The Opportunity
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the smooth and compliant running of the home. You will be instrumental in creating a stable, nurturing environment where young people feel safe, supported, and empowered to progress.
This role suits someone who combines strong leadership skills with a therapeutic, child-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager in the overall leadership and management of the home
- Lead shifts, set clear expectations, and model best practice
- Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are consistently upheld
- Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and placement planning
- Promote positive behaviour support strategies
- Maintain high-quality, accurate records in line with regulatory standards
- Contribute to Ofsted readiness and ongoing quality assurance
What We’re Looking For
- Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Residential Care (essential)
- Working towards or willing to complete Level 5 in Leadership & Management (desirable)
- Proven experience within a children’s residential setting
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and Ofsted requirements
- Experience leading shifts and supervising staff
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
