Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Class 2 Skip Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a skip lorry to deliver and collect skips across various locations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and excellent customer service. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, supporting waste management and recycling operations.
Duties
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV skip lorry, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Deliver and collect skips from designated sites, ensuring timely and efficient service
- Load and unload skips using appropriate equipment, adhering to health and safety standards
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before shifts to ensure vehicle safety and roadworthiness, reporting defects were necessary
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, and mileage
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members to coordinate schedules and resolve any issues promptly
- Follow all legal requirements related to commercial driving and waste transportation
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with HGV Class 2 skip vehicles
- Training for the right candidate availible
- Valid UK driving licence with relevant categories (C licence) is essential
- CPC and Tacho card is essential
- Good knowledge of driver hours
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to commercial driving and waste management operations
- Monday to Friday 0700-1700, overtime and Saturday work available
