About the Role
This role offers the opportunity to do the kind of work many educators value most: building meaningful relationships with the same learners each week and seeing progress develop over time.
As an Active Outreach Services tutor, you will provide 1:1 support to children and young people with SEND, SEMH and additional learning needs.
Because tutors often work with the same learners each week, you have the opportunity to build strong relationships, provide consistent support and see the impact of your work over time. Many of our tutors go on to build a regular weekly timetable with recurring learners, creating valuable continuity for both the tutor and learner.
Many of our tutors support between 1 and 3 learners per day, creating a timetable that offers both variety and consistency. Without the demands of a full classroom, you can focus on personalised support, adapt activities in the moment and respond to each learner's individual needs, interests and barriers.
Support may include:
- Basic English support
- Basic Maths support
- Life skills development
- Re-engagement with learning
- Confidence and independence building
Sessions are delivered on a 1:1 basis, typically between 9:00am and 5:00pm, in a learner's home, local library, community venue or online.

Requirements
You will need:
- Experience working with children and young people
- Experience supporting SEND and/or SEMH learners (preferred)
- Access to a laptop or computer
- Access to a smartphone
- Reliable internet access
- Ability to complete online reports and administrative tasks
- Ability to travel to learner locations where required
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
Pay: £18.00 per hour
