Receptionist (Temporary to Permanent)

Job Summary
Connaught House Specialist Care Centre is seeking a dedicated, organised and professional Receptionist to join our team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is a full-time opportunity for an individual who enjoys working in a public-facing role and takes pride in providing a welcoming and positive first impression.
The successful candidate will be well-organised, efficient, self-motivated, and possess excellent communication and administrative skills. Following a successful temporary period, there is the opportunity for the role to become permanent.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist visitors in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
- Open, date-stamp, and distribute incoming post, ensuring important correspondence is brought to the attention of the Home Manager.
- Utilise office equipment and systems to accurately and efficiently complete administrative tasks and correspondence.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and direct enquiries to the appropriate person or department.
- Take and relay messages promptly while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Monitor and maintain office and stationery supplies, placing orders with approved suppliers as required and within budget guidelines.
- Organise meetings, prepare agendas, and take formal minutes for approval and distribution within agreed timescales.
- Arrange travel and accommodation bookings where required.
- Manage workload effectively, prioritising tasks and responding to changing demands to meet deadlines.
- Conduct show rounds for prospective residents and visitors, ensuring relevant information is gathered and recorded.
- Provide administrative support to the Home Manager and Administrator as required.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and professional reception area at all times.

Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 9:00am – 5:00pm
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have previous reception, customer service, or administrative experience.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Be confident using Microsoft Office and general office systems.
- Have strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Be professional, approachable, and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
