Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plasterer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying plaster to interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet project specifications. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in plastering. The position involves working on various council contracts, working to deadlines and high quality finishes.
Responsibilities
- Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers as necessary before plastering.
- Mixing plaster and other materials to the correct consistency using hand tools or power mixers.
- Applying plaster to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces with trowels, hawks, and other hand tools.
- Operating power tools such as drills, mixers, and saws safely and efficiently.
- Assisting with carpentry tasks related to framing or finishing touches that complement plastering work.
- blocking out with bonding after re wires, finishing plaster
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area throughout each project phase.
- Collaborating with other tradespeople such as joiners or electricians and plumbers when necessary to complete projects on time.
Requirements
- Proven experience in plastering
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment relevant to plastering work.
- Knowledge of different plastering techniques and finishing methods to achieve high-quality results.
- Ability to read technical drawings and interpret project specifications accurately.
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail and precision.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual tasks over extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Relevant safety certifications or willingness to undertake health & safety training as required by the role.
