About the Role
A specialist SEN school in Redhill is seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with a range of additional and complex learning needs within a structured, supportive, and nurturing environment.
The school supports pupils with needs including Autism (ASC), SLD, SEMH, PMLD, communication difficulties, and associated behavioural needs, with a strong focus on developing independence, communication, and emotional wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
- Support students during lessons, interventions, and structured activities
- Assist with behaviour regulation and emotional support
- Help pupils develop communication, social, and independence skills
- Support the implementation of EHCP targets and individual learning plans
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and SEN professionals
- Use positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques where required
- Contribute to a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Support pupils with personal care where required
What We’re Looking ForEssential:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils
- Understanding of behaviour support and emotional regulation
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable:
- Experience within a specialist SEN or secondary setting
- Knowledge of ASC, SEMH, SLD, or complex needs
- Experience using PECS, Makaton, or AAC systems
- Background in care, youth work, or support work

Pay: £97.68-£114.67 per day
