Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant early childhood education team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills whilst making a positive impact on children's lives. Previous nursery experience and a background in early childhood education are highly desirable. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be organised, and have the ability to work effectively with children, colleagues, and parents.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with early childhood education standards
- Supervise children during play, meal times, naps, and outdoor activities to ensure their safety at all times
- Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages children’s social, emotional, and cognitive growth
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the nursery and consistency in care practices
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress, behaviour, and any concerns
- Lead by example in maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and organisation within the nursery setting
- Assist in managing nursery staff schedules and support team members in their professional development
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood setting
- Knowledge of child development principles and childcare regulations
- Strong management and leadership skills to guide a team effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, children, and parents
- Relevant qualifications in early childhood education or childcare (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare) or equivalent recognised certification
Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
