Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and hard-working labourers to join our dayshift team within our busy seafood processing facility. In this role you will be responsible for preparation and handling of seafood products on the nitrogen belt as part of the freezing and packing process. This role ensures products are processed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards required for distribution.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload seafood products onto the nitrogen freezing belt
- Place frozen products into secondary packaging
- Apply film wrapping and cardboard sleeves to packaged products
- Box and palletise finished products for storage or dispatch
- Check that all products are correctly labelled according to specifications
- Assist with machine setup, including start-up and shut-down checks (full training provided)
- Prepare finished goods for dispatch, ensuring accuracy in packaging and documentation
- Monitor the flow of product to ensure consistency and avoid blockages
- Ensure that all products being loaded match the relevant dispatch paperwork
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area at all times
- Work as part of a team to meet production targets and deadlines
- Follow all health & safety procedures and wear the appropriate PPE at all times
- Inspect products for quality and report any defects or issues to the supervisor
- Assist in routine cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment as required
- Carry out other general labouring duties within the factory as directed by the supervisor
Skills & Attributes
- Good level of physical fitness – able to lift, bend, and stand for long periods
- Able to work in cold environments
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and awareness of food hygiene and safety
- Basic understanding of health & safety in the workplace
- Ability to travel to site in Amble, Northumberland

Working Environment
This role is physically demanding and involves working in chilled conditions for extended periods. Duties require standing for long periods, repetitive tasks, bending, and manual handling. Full training and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided.
