We are currently recruiting for a qualified Electrician to work within a large public sector property and estates team responsible for maintaining a diverse portfolio of non-domestic buildings.
This role offers the opportunity to work across a wide range of properties including schools, offices, and public buildings, carrying out installation, maintenance and inspection of electrical systems as part of a professional estates maintenance team.
If you are a skilled electrician with experience in commercial or public buildings, this is an excellent opportunity to secure a stable Monday–Friday role within the public sector environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation and commissioning of electrical systems
- Maintenance and repair of existing electrical systems
- Carrying out testing and inspection of electrical installations
- Diagnosing electrical faults and reporting findings
- Ensuring work complies with BS7671 (18th Edition) and electrical safety legislation
- Working across a variety of non-domestic buildings including schools and offices
- Maintaining accurate job records and reports
- Communicating effectively with supervisors, colleagues and building users
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with regulations and standards Electrician JD PS 2023 Final
Requirements
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
- AM2 or recognised electrical apprenticeship
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
- 2391 or 2395 Testing & Inspection qualification
- Experience working on electrical systems within commercial or non-domestic buildings
- Good knowledge of electrical regulations and health & safety standards
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable
- Experience working within public sector estates or facilities environments
- BMS systems experience
- Asbestos awareness training
- Working at height / manual handling training
Working Environment
You will be working across a varied estate of public buildings, including schools, offices and construction environments. The role may involve indoor and outdoor work, working at height and accessing confined spaces when required.
